EASA Players Excel in Eastern Regional Tournament
Enock Agyei Soccer Academy’s Under-17 squad delivered a commanding and thoroughly deserved performance at the 2026 Eastern Regional Youth Football Tournament, finishing the competition as champions and drawing widespread attention from scouts and clubs across Ghana.
The tournament, held across three matchdays in May at venues across the Eastern Region, brought together the best youth sides from across the region. EASA’s U17 squad went into the competition with confidence — and left with a trophy, a clean record through the group stage, and the admiration of everyone who watched them play.
Group Stage Dominance
EASA opened the tournament with a dominant 4–0 victory against a determined side from New Juaben, with the squad’s technical superiority evident from the first whistle. A composed 2–1 win over Fanteakwa followed, before a hard-fought 1–1 draw against a physical Kwahu side in the final group fixture secured EASA’s passage to the knockout rounds as group winners.
The coaching staff used the group stage to rotate the squad effectively, giving game time to players across the bench and maintaining freshness ahead of the knockout rounds. The squad’s tactical discipline — pressing high, winning second balls, and transitioning quickly — was a hallmark of every performance.
Semifinal & Grand Final
The semifinal against a well-organised Birim Central side proved to be the stiffest test of the tournament. EASA fell behind early but showed tremendous character to fight back, winning 3–1 with two second-half goals inside ten minutes turning the tie decisively in their favour. It was exactly the kind of resilience the academy’s coaching programme is built to produce.
The grand final was a statement performance. EASA controlled possession from the opening minutes, pressed with intensity, and converted their chances clinically — running out 3–1 winners to be crowned Eastern Regional Youth Champions.
“These boys showed exactly what EASA is about — not just skill, but character. They came from behind in the semifinal and never panicked. That is what we train.”

Several individual performances across the tournament stood out and drew the attention of scouts in attendance. Three players in particular produced consistent displays worthy of recognition.

The standout player of the entire competition was EASA’s number 10, whose vision, dribbling, and ability to create chances from tight spaces was a constant threat throughout the five matches. He finished the tournament with 4 goals and 3 assists — a contribution that had scouts exchanging notes in the stands.

Commanding Presence in Goal
EASA U17 · Goalkeeper
EASA’s goalkeeper was a commanding and calming presence throughout the competition. His reflexes and shot-stopping were exceptional — particularly in the tense semifinal — and his ability to organise the defence from behind proved a key factor in the team’s resilience.
Scout Interest & What It Means
The tournament attracted representatives from several Ghana Premier League clubs, who attended to evaluate talent at the under-17 level. Multiple EASA players were noted for follow-up contact, and the academy is in active discussions regarding potential exposure opportunities for the coming season.
For EASA, the significance of this tournament goes beyond a trophy. It validates the training methodology, the discipline instilled in the players, and the coaching philosophy that founder Enock Atta Agyei has built the academy around. Most importantly, it gives the players tangible proof that the work they put in every day on the training ground translates to results on the biggest stage available to them.
Looking Ahead
The squad will return to regular training ahead of the new 2026/27 season, with enrolment for all programmes now open. The coaching staff will use the tournament footage to conduct video review sessions with the players — analysing both strengths and areas to improve before the season kicks off in earnest.
A full season of competitive fixtures, friendly matches, and further tournament participation is planned for the year ahead. If the Eastern Regional Tournament is anything to go by, Enock Agyei Soccer Academy’s U17 squad has the potential to make a serious impression on the national youth football scene.
Congratulations to every player, coach, and member of the EASA family who made this possible. The standard has been set — now we build on it.
